Fashion shows being streamed is nothing out of the unexpected, but when J.W. Anderson announced that Grindr would be live-streaming his latest collection everyone was a bit shocked.

As were a lot of people watching, I’m sure, when the show started and very tame garments made their way round the floor. Anderson is known for his eccentric designs and his use of colours but this season he played it a little differently. The colour palette didn’t stray very far from black, white and beige and when it did, it only to let in some earthy tones.

Khakis and deep berry reds were showcased for the more autumnal clothing and within the coats that were displayed. Each fitted like a regular coat, whilst keeping some aspect of being oversized, in true J.W. Anderson fashion, whether it be the collar or detailing.

Prints are always easy to spot in his collections but this season it was kept very minimal; except for the odd snail here and there and the few items that sported a cat print. This new twist on the brand made for a very wearable, informal formal look with a military twist.

Trench coats that looked like they belonged on the battle field made their way down the catwalk along with a bulletproof looking vest. Mixed in with this was one look that seemed to have wandered in from a rave back in the 90s with a sheer overlay and iridescent half and half trousers.
