Flat chunky boots, a mishmash of stripes and tartan and an abundance of fur appeared in the collection, so much so Cruella Deville would be jealous.
House of Holland has almost created and uncharacteristic collection, with no quirky slogans or instantly recognisable fun. This time Henry has put together different patterns and textures to bring a playful element to ensembles.
Peplum edged t-shirts with vibrant pinks clashed with moody reds in a gingham print and plain black Oxford bag trouser.
The gingham style check carried through the collection in various guises. A knee grazing sleeved dress with sheer panels, sitting next to patent squares, exposed the model’s pale complex in a suggestive yet playful way. The all black look was complete with a satin neck scarf in off white and burgundy, all black tights and chunky brogues. Wednesday Addams eat your heart out.
Holland’s AW 15 collection showcased satin shirts and dresses in candy cane stripes of red & white, bumblebee black & yellow and classic Breton print matched perfectly with the travelator streaked edging. The details on this stripy five-some were exaggerated with topstitching and exposed zips joining the sections.

Stripes gave way to tartan, something House of Holland is renowned for. Shift dresses, Oxford Bag trousers and oversized fur trimmed trench coats stole the show.
The final looks housed so much fur that it’s verging on incomprehensible, with faux fur panelled gilets in damson, peach and navy blue with shiny leggings and dark sunglasses, Anna Wintour would be proud.
A long sleeved leather dress in a pillar box red and black marble effect, with a thick black waist belt and peach fur collar and matching furry clutch, brought a hint of femininity to the collection. The final number was a red and white fur coat, which closely resembled a spinning car wash brush, and was completed with a black satin neckerchief and leggings in the marble effect seen on the previous look.
House of Holland has taken a new direction with next season’s collection. Granted it might not be full of the wit we’re used to seeing in previous collections, but instead Holland replaces it with equally fun textures and prints, sticking true to the brand’s style.
