Missguided turns 10

Missguided turns 10 this week (we know, we can’t believe it either!) and we thought that it would only be right of us to join in the celebration too.

The brand was founded in 2009 by Nitin Passi, a Cheshire-born businessman. They cater for females from the age of 16 to 35 and have a wide variety of different ranges, including tall, petite and plus size.

One of the best things about Missguided are their collaborations with influencers, celebrities and other fashion brands. There have been so many of them over the years, so we thought that we would pick out our top five collabs.

Playboy x Missguided Pt II

The Playboy x Missguided Pt II collaboration dropped in February this year and we were all over it. The collection was described as “the essential collection for a new generation of rebellious females who dress by their own rules.” The colour scheme mainly consists of black, white, green, grey and purple. Some of our favourite pieces from the collection were the purple magazine back sweatshirt and the grey bunny sleeve cropped hoodie.

For those of you who don’t know, Madison Beer is an American singer and actress, and in April 2018, she created the collaboration of sporty-chic dreams. The collection was described as “for the girl who knows what she wants and does as she pleases.” As She Pleases is the title of Madison’s debut EP and the phrase features on many of the items in the collection. Some of our favourite pieces were the “As she pleases” cropped hoodie and the yellow checked mini skirt, which gave us major Clueless vibes.

Carli Bybel x Missguided

With over six million YouTube subscribers and five million Instagram followers, social media sensation Carli Bybel was destined to bring out not just one, but two collaborations with Missguided. The second collection was described as “everything your party wardrobe is waiting for” and we totally agree. Some of our favourite pieces from the two collections were the nude mesh embellished dress and the pink satin cargo pants.

Fanny Lyckman x Missguided

Like Carli, Swedish fashion blogger Fanny Lyckman (yes, that is her real name) has also released two collaborations with Missguided. The description of the collection was “with her boss babe attitude and killer style, it’s the capsule collection to be seen in.” The colour scheme of the collections is mainly mono-tonal, with a few primary colours, such as yellow and red, thrown in the mix. Some of our favourite items were the black cropped bomber jacket and the black combat chain trousers.

Barbie x Missguided

No matter how much they try to deny it, everyone loves a bit of Barbie. For many of us, Barbie was a big part of our childhood, so it was great to see Missguided reimagine the brand in such a modern and mature way. The collection was described as “a new generation of Barbie girls, for females not afraid to shatter the plastic ceiling, who like to keep things 100% real.” Some of our favourite items from the collections were the “I Can’t Come Out Tonight, I’m Busy” t-shirt and the pink satin pyjama set.
