Schiaparelli RTW AW 2024: Simplicity with a Touch of Elegance

For Daniel Roseberry’s latest ready-to-wear autumn-winter collection, he tapped into the importance of elegant simplicity.

The yearly Schiaparelli RTW winter show took place once again in Place Vendome, Paris. The show consisted of 40 looks, which all had differences but still followed the same theme, elegant simplicity.

The show was opened by supermodel Mona Tougaard, who walked in wearing a striking mottled linen suit jacket, decked out with eye-catching gold buttons along the bottom of the sleeves and glistening metallic gold embroidery on the lapel. The suit was accompanied by matching high-waisted slim-leg trousers, which gave the piece a modern yet simple appearance.

The garments were tied together with an exquisite crocodile leather clutch bag which featured button jewels forming a trompe l’oeil face. Simple black leather cowboy boots alongside chunky gold earrings embellished with dazzling diamante completed the look.

The outfit sheds light onto Roseberry’s theme by highlighting that a two-piece suit jacket and trousers can still catch the eyes of onlookers and fill the presence of a room.

Sewn to perfection, the black wool twill single-breasted suit jacket, featured a keyhole detail in gilded brass that embellished the collar lapel, alongside distinctive gold buttons on the cuffs, which caught many eyes on the catwalk.

The piece was paired with a white tabinet shirt, which gave the outfit an elegant and simple touch, which showed the beauty of simplicity and also clarified Roseberry’s theme.

The jacket was accompanied by baggy cargo trousers – which have seen a rise in popularity through the 2020s, giving the outfit a modern feel. This without a doubt caught the eyes of fashion critic and Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, who was sitting, looking impressed, at the front row.

The closing outfit glistened down the runway. The long, silhouette-hugging dress was adorned with thousands of sequins. The dress highlighted Roseberry’s theme of elegance and simplicity through the interplay of neutral yet contrasting colours, featuring shades of pale pink juxtaposed with bold black tones. The opposing colours showed that simplicity can still be bold and breathtaking.

The show was spectacular, and a credit to the brand.
