Neon, lace, silk bondage bras and clashing colours, were all on a set of a luxurious black and gold runway at the Fall/Winter 2019 Versace women’s collection.
Central to the set was the iconic Versace Gold Safety Pin that first debuted on a Versace runway as part of their SS94 collection. The safety pin is symbolic of the bold opposites that define Versace in their collections to this day and some of our favourite looks from this collection showed designer, Donatella Versace, did not allow this collection to fall short on detail.
The colour palette of this collection saw an array of autumn staples such as amber, deep chocolate browns and olive greens but also saw colour blocking with bold neon and heavy pattern taking centre stage. Taking a new turn for Versace we were transported back to nineties grunge.
The most iconic piece of this collection was a double-breasted, oversized blazer that emulated masculinity covered completely in embroidered cerulean blue V’s paired with a contrasting transparent mesh midi length skirt that was encased in crystal beaded chains and rainbow coloured perfume bottles.

The perfume bottle was a theme throughout the collection with new prints created specially to display some of Versace’s most iconic fragrances, most notably their Blonde Fragrance.
Another look which took contrasting to the next level was a piece modelled by Kendall Jenner. She wore a silk bondage bra – these were seen repeatedly throughout the show – a utilitarian blazer styled with a contrasting armband and breast inserts. These were made from delicate lace and finishing off the look were the matching lace insert leggings. This look embodied empowerment and strength with military inspiration and portrayed subtle femininity.

The final show-stopping moment – although one of the more simplistic designs from Versace – was a backless black, shimmering, floor-length gown that dazzled the audience in the stage lights. It was paired with a black and gold silk bondage bra and worn by 80s/90s ‘original supermodel’, Stephanie Seymour. Last to walk the runway for Versace and applauded by a stunned audience, Stephanie’s gown showed a timeless elegance paired with the iconic Versace edge
