Presenting this year’s tasteful designs in his ready-to-wear collection, Khan didn’t fail to excite the audience with his careful choice of colours, materials and silhouettes.
When you see the latest collections at fashion shows, you always imagine the theme to remain the same throughout the show. Just like the previous collections, this wasn’t the case for Khan’s new collection.
The models were real life dolls. Wearing their hair in a messy afro hairdo and statement earrings which coordinated with the outfits they were wearing, they showed off their red bottom high heeled shoes at the end of the catwalk – very posh.
Naeem Khan’s designs have been sported by popular celebrities at numeral award ceremonies this year. Of course, the racy low cut navy see through dress with a cape elegantly flowing from the shoulders stood out in the ready-to-wear fashion show. It is the real fantasy of what’s worn on the red carpet.
After conforming on her twitter account that she would be attending the show, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015, sat in the admired front row next to actress Willow Shields. Perhaps we might see Pia in one of the fall designs in her next appearance or Willow wearing the collection at the Oscars.
It is fascinating how the opening of the show takes the unique inspiration from New York’s very own Art Décor scene from the 1920s. The vision is displayed to us on several of the garments with metallic and monochromes to Blue, Navy, Purple and Red geometric patterns.
The gold dresses dazzled and deserve to be praised. You could see the dresses were carefully designed from looking at them as all the dresses had a different silhouette with the detailed embellishments and beading on them. Full skirted dresses, ball gowns, midi style dresses, fitted dresses, fishtail dresses and even jumpsuits were included.
