The worldwide famous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015 took place Tuesday November 10 at the Lexington Armory, New York. The event, which seems to gain more and more attraction every year, guest listed many well-known celebrities such as; rapper Tyga who is currently dating Kylie Jenner, fashion and beauty blogger Kristina Bazan and American singer Austin Mahone.
Lily Aldridge stunned in this years firework themed Fantasy bra. The 29-year-old confidently walked the runway in the $2 million jewel encrusted undergarment. This year’s fantasy bra took more than 685 hours to create and was embellished in over 6,500 gems. Lily also rocked a firework inspired shoulder piece to make the fantasy bra look even more incredible.
This years performers included Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd. Ellie replaced rumoured performer Rihanna, the reason for this being that the Diamonds singer didn’t feel her new music was ready to be performed and finishing her album is her first priority at the moment.
Ellie Goulding sang her single ‘Love Me Like You Do’, which was at number one for four weeks in the UK, whilst Selena Gomez chose to sing two songs from her new album; ‘Me and My Girls’ and ‘Hands to Myself’. The Weeknd also performed, singing popular hit ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ and new song ‘In The Night’. A perfect line-up to create a buzzing atmosphere for the VS runway.
This year’s runway featured many different trends, some of which included; Snow Angles, Hippy fashion, Festival vibes, Fairy tale themes and, Fashion North’s personal favourite, the Butterfly effect. Other designs were very similar to the SS16 Fashion Weeks. Gigi Hadid’s fireman style suit over a ‘PINK’ red sports bra and briefs which gave off a similar construction feel as Moschino. The show also featured light up LED wings for the first time.
This year’s catwalk featured two new angels, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. The two besties were thrilled to be walking the iconic Victorias Secret Runway together. It was an honour for both 20-year-olds, so young in their modelling career, to be a part of this major event. The pair even held hands at the finale walk and took a bow together, how sweet! Both girls had two looks each and both looked equally fabulous.
Behind the scenes of the VS Fashion Show 2015, lead makeup artist, Dick Page gave the angels a romantic no makeup, makeup look, saying this years inspiration was ‘everything is transparent’. The angels were swarmed with journalists and cameras desperate to interview them. Everyone got their 2015 robes, even Selena Gomez who was ecstatic about it!

Final thoughts:
Alexandra: I always think that the VS Fashion Shows improve every year. They never fail to impress, showing new and improved styles all the time. I love how each year there are many different trends rolled in to one show, with performers to fit the theme. This year I think the fantasy bra was incredible, better than ever before, followed by all the other firework themed sets. Up to now, I would have to say that this, or the butterfly effect piece Gigi Hadid debuted in has got to be my favourite of the whole show. This year’s runway seems to have been better than ever and I can not wait to be able to watch the whole thing!
Stephanie: This year’s Victorias Secret Fashion Show has to be my all time favourite as I love the diversity of looks debuted on the runway. My favourite look has to be Snow Angels theme as the garments are embellished in crystals and accessorised with fur, which I think looks amazing! The performers this year are a much better line up than last year as I am a huge fan of The Weeknd.
