Moschino FW19 RTW collection: everyone’s a winner at Moschino’s game show

Moschino never fails to amaze when it comes to their unique theme choices for shows and the Fall/Winter 2019 ready to wear collection is no exception. Jeremy Scott, turned a traditional fashion show into a game show, recreating ‘The Price is Right’ with this extraordinary set.

The show opened with Kaia Gerber, dressed quite literally like a million dollars. She wore a knee length pencil skirt paired with a reverse collar biker jacket –worn almost fully zipped up – with a small pocket in the bottom left and a belt along the bottom adding extra detail. Both pieces had a light cream undertone but were covered in green print resembling an American dollar.

Each model walked around the outside of the set, which was comprised of all the prizes up for grabs. These ranged from gym equipment, to a gleaming cherry red Ferrari, which at the end of the show, Jeremy Scott climbed into. Not only were the models showcasing Moschino’s new collection they were also modelling the prizes, rotating throughout the show which household appliance they stood next to.

The collection itself was made up of luxury garments many of which were evening dresses in golds, purples and black. Faux fur was a popular material used throughout the collection and each model also wore statement jewels to complete their look. All representing the wealth of winning a game show and going from rags to riches.

The hair of each model was big, and their makeup was bright, inspired by the 80s.

A standout piece from the collection was this floor length body con dress with a rounded neck and long sleeves worn by Irina Shayk. This black dress was covered with small, square boxes in a variety of colours such as royal blue, cherry red, tangerine, caution yellow and dark green all with bright orange outlines – some of which lit up. Inside each box was an amount of money or a phrase relevant to a game show such as ‘lose a turn.’

You can’t fault Jeremy Scott for his genius creativity when portraying a theme in his shows.
