News has just broken that Raf Simons is to exit Dior after a three-and-a-half-year tenure.

Announced this morning by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH), the Creative Director is set to end his collaboration with the French brand, with the SS16 show on October 2 being his last collection.

Simons said in a statement released by Women’s Wear Daily; “It is after careful and long consideration that I have decided to leave my position as creative director of Christian Dior’s women’s collection… it is a decision based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and the passions that drive me outside my work.”

The 47-year-old, Simons was responsible for six Dior collections a year, seeing some of the most well known celebrities attend his shows and represent the brand such as Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman and Rihanna.

A successor is yet to be named.
