The ‘no makeup’ makeup look has always been a staple in the list of favourite beauty trends. It’s particularly a winner for those who have little to no time on a morning to complete a full face of makeup but want to look like they’re wearing a little something for the day ahead.

According to Vogue (catalyst for all great beauty and fashion trends since 1916) the look is back to make its re-appearance for Autumn / Winter 2015. So expect to see sparse eyebrows, rosy cheeks, light coverage mineral foundation and mostly clear glossy lips with natural mascara to lightly feather the eyelashes.

Blake Lively and Emma Watson are both beauty and style icons who are renowned for frequently going for the natural look. Emma was featured on Vogue’s September 2015 cover looking extremely bare-faced and flaunting her natural freckled skin for all to see. While Blake Lively was pictured a few days ago looking fresh-faced and beautiful as she filmed her new Woody Allen movie.

So, as well as being featured all over the catwalk, especially throughout London Fashion Week 2015, the celebs are rocking the minimal trend too.

We’ve chosen some products to help you achieve this desirable ‘no makeup’ trend:

STEP 1: Light coverage mineral foundation

Use a light natural mineral powder foundation like this one from bareMinerals. You only need to use a small amount of product to achieve a perfect coverage. The mineral powder is also available in a matte version if you’re prone to an oily complexion.

STEP 2 – Rosy pink blush

After you’ve achieved the skin base, it’s essential to infuse at least a little bit of colour to the face, despite your no-makeup appearance. Rose pink is the best option to ensure the makeup look is as minimal and natural as possible. This cream blush from MAC is ideal for creating a dewy natural finish on the cheeks without the chalky effect that powder product can sometimes cause.

STEP 3 – Natural effect mascara

For this basic look it’s advisable volumising mascara and those likely to give the ‘spiderlash’ appearance. For the best natural eyelashes AVON offer some of the best mascaras at a student budget price of £1.99. The Daring Curves mascara is the one we’d recommend as it provides just enough length to make a difference whilst staying minimal and flattering.

STEP 4 – Clear/pink lipgloss

The final step to complete the look is clear or pink lipgloss. The Maybelline Baby Lips lip balms offer hydration with a small hint of colour thrown in. ‘Cherry Me’ or ‘Pink Punch’ are the best shades from the range to achieve the ‘no makeup’ look, so take your pick!
